World Darts Championship: Day 8 Evening Session Preview

By Ryan Skidmore

Gary Anderson vs Madars Razma

Two time winner Gary Anderson has not had his best season and has not played that much darts but will still feel confident of advancing past Madars Razma tonight. Razma battled hard against Jiwa in the first round, averaging around 90 to go through. Anderson does light up at Ally Pally and his season average is still higher than Razma. On top of that he will probably hit more maximums with Razma’s tendency to switch.

Prediction: Anderson 3-1 Razma

Bets: Anderson to win and hit most 180’s - 4/6

James Wade vs Jim Williams

James Wade has only won one title this year and that was only a Players Championship title at the end of the year, and he faces a stern opponent in Jim Williams in his first match this year. Williams played well on the whole against Bialecki in round 1 and could cause Wade some problems if he is not firing early. Both players are good finishers and a high finish a piece could be worth chancing at over even money, it looks a more tempting price than James Wade at 2/5 who I have just to edge through.

Prediction: Wade 3-1 J Williams

Bets: Both players to have 1+ 100+ checkout - 11/10

Luke Humphries vs Florian Hempel

I fancy Luke Humphries to have a huge run this year and he should start with a bang against Florian Hempel who edged past Keegan Brown in the opening round. Humphries has had a great year winning 5 titles and having deeper runs in majors as of late. His high scoring will always stand him in good stead and while Hempel showed some good signs, he will have to improve to get close to Cool Hand Luke.

Prediction: Humphries 3-1 Hempel

Bets: Humphries to win and hit most 180’s - 4/5

Vincent Van Der Voort vs Cameron Menzies

Cameron Menzies endured a scrappy game against Diogo Portela but did finish well when required to win 3-1 in the opening round. He will fancy his chances against the Dutchman who has had a poor season and has slipped down the rankings. The game could see quite a few maximums and some high finishing but will probably have edgy moments too, could be an intriguing one to end the night.

Prediction: Van Der Voort 3-1 Menzies

Bets: Van Der Voort to win 3-1 - 4/1

Best Bet

Anderson & Humphries both to win and hit most 180’s - 2/1
