Ratajski vs Jansen
Jansen won 3-2 against Nebrida but only hit 3 180’s in 5 sets and averaged just 83. Ratajski had a good Players Championship, he eventually lost to Humphries but did average 97 in that game. It should be fairly routine for the Eagle in this one and I’d be shocked if Jansen had much success.
Ratajski to win 3-0 - 5/4
Ratajski to win the match treble - 15/8
Searle vs Gawlas
Gawlas averaged just 84 against Richie Burnett, hitting 4 180’s in 5 sets. Searle comes to the Palace off the back of one of the best games of all time at the Players Championship where he went down 10-9 to Dirk Van Duivenbode. It would be a major shock if Gawlas were to have any success here and I’m going for another routine win.
Searle to win 3-0 - 5/4
Searle to win and hit most 180’s - 5/4
Suljovic vs De Decker
Mike De Decker only averaged 88 against Jeff Smith but he hit 8 180’s and he’s capable of much better then an 88 average. Since September the Belgian is averaging 95.86 to Suljovic’s 91.68 so I was surprised to see him open up as the outsider in the market. De Decker is a big 180 hitter and should he win, the 180’s market seems a formality so I’ll be playing that.
De Decker to win 3-1 - 10/3
De Decker to win and hit most 180’s - 5/4
Van Duivenbode vs Sedlacek
Sedlacek was absolutely superb in his sun over Ray Smith but this is a completely different task. The aubergenius has been brilliant this year, and should he lose here, it would be a massive shock. I fancy Gawlas to be beaten comprehensively earlier in the afternoon and I don’t see this Czech having much more success. Dirk should win this and set up an absolute cracker with Ross Smith in round 3.
Van Duivenbode to win 3-0 - 11/8
Van Duivenbode to win the match treble - 1/1
Treble:
Searle to win and hit the most 180s; De Decker to win and hit the most 180s; Van Duivenbode to win and hit the most 180s (13/2)
