World Darts Championship: Day 4 Morning Session Preview

By Ryan Skidmore

Madars Razma vs Prakash Jiwa

Jiwa is making his ally pally debut today and will be excited at the prospect, but the draw is a tough one as Razma has had a decent season. The thing to be wary of with Razma betting is the lack of 180’s due to his frequent switching to the treble 19. I expect Razma to win comfortably and add to his prize money.

Prediction: Razma 3-0 Jiwa

Bets: Razma to win 3-0 - 5/4

Karel Sedlacek vs Raymond Smith

This game is priced up as the most competitive of the day and I agree with the bookies totally. Both players have a seasonal average not too far apart and have shown glimpses of good things. Raymond Smith reached the last 16 in this last year showing some clinical finishing throughout, before eventually going out to Mervyn King. He has not been seen in the UK tournaments since whereas Sedlacek has been busy on the tour, and I am just going to edge him to win this one.

Prediction: Sedlacek 3 - 2 Smith

Bets: Sedlacek to win - 5/6

Luke Woodhouse vs Vladyslav Omelchenko

Omelchenko qualified via the Ukraine qualifier and averaged 69.97 through that tournament so it is obvious he will have to improve considerably to get close to Luke Woodhouse. Woody played well in the Grand Slam and was unlucky to not go through as he averaged good numbers throughout. He should have no issues today to set him up for a tie with Gerwyn Price.

Prediction: Woodhouse 3-0 Omelchenko

Bets: Woodhouse to win 3-0 - 1/2

Damon Heta vs Adrian Lewis

A thriller of a game in prospect to end the afternoon session at Ally Pally on Day 4, with former two-time champion Adrian Lewis facing up against Australia’s number 1 Damon Heta. Jackpot played well against Daniel Larsson to win his first game and will be looking to carry that forward against The Heat, who despite having a good year on the tour has not been great on a big stage. Heta has lost in the first round of 4 TV Major’s this year and Lewis will look to expose that chink and looks the value bet as the outsider.

Prediction: Heta 2-3 Lewis

Bets: Lewis to win - 6/4
