World Cup: Group A Final Fixtures

By Aidan Smyth

Holland vs Qatar

With Holland all but through, they’ll be looking for a big win over arguably the tournaments weakest side, to ensure they top the group and avoid a likely clash with England in the last 16.

Van Gaal has been very careful with Depay’s minutes so far, and it would be majorly surprising to see him start here considering how careful the Dutch manager has been to this point, which would make Gakpo the obvious option in any goal scoring markets again. He is currently 6.2 to open the scoring which represents good value.

The biggest value bet I can see in the Dutch game is Dumfries to have a shot on target. You can find it on Binkbet under the player section at 2.95 to have over 0.5 shots on target which is huge for a right wing back who scored 2 in 5 nation league games.

Dumfries is at 5.3 to score anytime and over 2.5 goals in the match, which seems a tad short so I’m instead looking at him to be man of the match at 26.0. If he does score, and Holland keep a clean sheet, as expected, he would be in with a great chance of picking up the award and this price seems outstanding value to me.

Holland know they need to better the Ecuador result to top the group so I would expect them to try and win this game comfortably to ensure they top the group. Qatar have been very poor this tournament, particularly defensively, and 17.0 on 5-0 seems fair enough to me.

Best Bets

5-0 Holland correct score - 17.0 Dumfries MOTM - 26.0 Gakpo first goalscorer - 6.2 Dumfries over 0.5 shots on target - 2.95

Ecuador vs Senegal

This seems pretty much like a straight shoot out to qualify, a point would be enough for Ecuador, whilst only a win will do for Senegal. It makes it a really interesting game and the contrast in styles will be fascinating to see.

Preciado has been somewhat of a hidden gem for Ecuador so far at right back, both offensively and defensively he has been outstanding, but he spent much of the game against Holland very high up the pitch, and that may leave space for the Senegal danger man Ismaila Sarr who is 9.3 to open the scoring. With the space left by Preciado this could be great value.

It’s been clear from the outset that the Ecuador danger man going forward is Enner Valencia, he has scored all 3 goals for the South Americans so far, and I was shocked to see him as big as 3.6 to score the first Ecuador goal. If they do score a goal, it’ll likely be their talisman and at that price it’s certainly worth a bet for me.

In the MOTM market I’m going at a huge price for Piero Hincapie at 41.0. If Ecuador take the lead there’s a huge chance that plenty of crosses will go into the box and the South Americans will need to do a lot of defending. The big centre back is an excellent defender and with the qualification scenario coming into this game, he could be a major player at a big price.

Finally, in the correct score market I’m opting for 2-1 Ecuador. I can see a scenario where the sides are level and at that point, you’d expect Senegal to be throwing the kitchen sink at Ecuador to try and get a winner, which leaves them open to counter attacks, at 9.4, 2-1 could have a great chance.

Best bets

Piero Hincapie MOTM - 41.0 Ismaila Sarr first goal scorer - 9.3 Ecuador 2-1 correct score - 9.3 Enner Valencia First Ecuador scorer - 3.6
