As we enter the crunch stage of the World Cup, every side will feel they have a good chance of winning football’s Holy Grail. Brazil will fancy their chances more than most with a game against arguably the worst side left in the tournament.
Brazil have averaged 7.5 corners per match in the tournament and I’d expect them to rack up the corners against Croatia. I’m going for over 5 corners in the match for Brazil.
On the other hand, Croatia do not win as many corners. With Croatia expected to be on the backfoot for most of the game I am going for under 5 corners in the match for the Croats. They have averaged 4.25 in their matches this tournament against much weaker opposition than the South Americans.

Netherlands v Argentina

In what could be Lionel Messi’s last ever game on the international stage we see two footballing giants face off. Both of these teams will be looking to book a semi final spot against Brazil (apologies Croatia).
Although the idea of Brazil v Argentina is appealing to all neutrals, I can see Netherlands scraping a narrow win. With the likes of Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay hitting form at the right time I think the Dutch attack will have too much for Argentina.
If Messi turns up he can win this game by himself, but I haven’t been overly impressed with his Argentinian colleagues during this tournament and this could be one game too far for them.
With that said, I think it’ll be a tight affair. The Dutch have averaged 3.5 shots on targets per game in this tournament, against weak opposition. I fancy them to have under 5.5 shots on target in this match.
I fancy both teams to score in this game with the prize at stake, whilst I also fancy both teams to receive at least 1 card each as the game gets stretched into the latter stages.
