Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool
16:30 @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham (23/10) Draw (14/5) Liverpool (21/20)
Spurs sit third in the Premier League and will be full of confidence after qualifying for the knockout stages of the champions league in dramatic fashion earlier this week. They are 10 points above today’s opponents, albeit having played a game more, and will look to build upon the momentum generated from the win against Marseille.
Conte’s men have won 5 of their 6 home games this season, scoring 16 in the process, an average of 2.6 per game. But with injuries to Son and Richarlison the reliance on Harry Kane to deliver will be greater than usual today.
Hojbjerg has been carded on 4 occasions this season and could be a good bet to pick up a 5th today in what is likely to be a feisty battle. In their last four games in all competitions both teams have scored on each occasion which suggests there will be goals today. Both teams have scored in this fixture in 5 of the last 6 seasons.
Liverpool have incredibly conceded the first goal in 8 of their 12-league games this season (66%) which has impacted results drastically, leaving them sat 8th in the table.
Their 7-1 win away to Rangers was followed by a brilliant performance at home to Man City with a workmanlike 1-0 victory and many believed this would be the turning point in their season. Another 1-0 win at home to West Ham gave them something to build on but that was followed by defeats to Nottingham Forrest and Leeds.
Consistency has been a huge problem this season and they are still winless in their 5 league away games this season, scoring 5 and conceding 8. Salah has scored 7 goals in his last 7 games in all competitions and will look to add to his tally in what looks to be a must win for Liverpool if they want to compete with the teams above them this year.
My Best Bets:
Draw 1-1 (7/1)
BTTS (4/7)
Kane first goal (5/1)
Salah anytime (9/5)
Kane & Salah both to score (5/1)
Hojbjerg carded (5/2)
