Skidmore's Selections: Tuesday Racing

Leicester

16:50 - Aratus 8/1 1pt win

Clive Cox’s horse has been in better form than his figures suggest this season, having excuses in more than one of the big handicaps he has been running in at Ascot. Aratus looked progressive last term winning four races in a row after being beaten on debut, with his last win coming off a mark of 98 at Goodwood. He now looks well handicapped off a mark of 97 and a return to a more regular kind of race on quick ground should see him in a better light and I think he looks overpriced today at odds of around 8/1.

Leicester

17:20 - Bling On The Music 2/1 1pt win

Ed Walker’s gelding is still a maiden after 4 starts but he has been rather unfortunate to bump in to some useful horses with the winners of the three novice events now being rated 90, 89 and 96. He then ran a little bit below form last time out but he comes in today off the back of a wind op which suggests he had a breathing problem that day and hopefully that can help him break his maiden tag today in a more than winnable race.
