I was quite keen on Fergal O’Brien’s horse to win the novice hurdle at Cheltenham last weekend before he was declared a non runner and I am happy to follow him today on his belated hurdle debut today. He was a very smart bumper horse who won impressively on his debut at Chepstow, before going on to run well in a hot bumper at Newbury, then finishing second in the G2 bumper at Aintree. He has had a wind operation since and if converting his flat form to hurdles he will tough to beat today.

15:45 - Mack The Man 11/1 WIN
First time out may be the best time to catch Evan Williams’ horse who has a very good record fresh off a break. He won on his comeback run in both 2019 and 2021 and rather unfortunately bumped into Hitman in 2020 on his chase debut, so it is clear he thrives off a break. The handicapper has given him a real chance today too dropping him to a mark of 123, 4lbs below his last winning mark and any further rain today would only better his chances. The main danger is clearly Sonigino but he looks very short and worth a small bet against through Mack The Man at double digit odds.
