Market Rasen 13:10:

Chianti Classico (11/10) 3pt win

Kim Bailey has always held Chianti Classico in high regard and connections will have been satisfied with his hurdles debut, where he looked to convert his strong bumper form with ease.

He beat Paul Nicholls’ nice horse, Henri The Second at Chepstow that day and the form should work out well, (Henri The Second is prominent in the market for a Grade 2 Friday).

David Bass did have to work on Chianti Classico throughout the victory as he was still very green, but he did travel and jump well, moreover he will keep improving for experience. I think he will be difficult to beat in a novice race, despite giving away 7lb to his rivals and odds of around 11/10 make him rank a firm bet to me.
