Rebecca Menzies’ charge looks an interesting prospect on his handicap debut over hurdles today. He has made a solid enough start over obstacles in his 3 attempts, managing to place twice.
Three Platoon’s most recent effort at Sedgefield was a good one, he was in contention at the last before a sticky jump at the last ended his momentum allowing his opponents to sprint past up the run in.
The handicapper knocked him down 6lb for that run, down to a mark of 99. That seems lenient, considering the 2nd ran well next time off a mark of 111, and the winner will probably be around the 115 mark.
Although not a serial winner there is less chance of Three Platoon bumping into one today now handicapping and this looks a good chance to break his novice that.
