Purosangue looked an above average recruit when bolting up on debut and it would be no surprise were he to make his mark at this higher level and is high on the shortlist for top connections. Malc ran a cracker at big odds when 2nd in a G2 at Royal Ascot last month and this doesn’t look as deep of a race and is a serious contender here. While Lake Forest is another who ran on strongly to make a winning debut and shouldn't be dismissed in what looks an open contest.
15.00 – Newmarket – Handicap (Heritage Handicap)
Its very hard to knock the attitude of Quinalt who has rattled up a five timer and it would be no surprise to see him go very close again here with Conor Planas claiming his 5lb again and is a must for the shortlist. Washington Heights was only beaten a head by Quinalt last time out and now has the aid of Ryan Moore doing the steering and is another who wont be far away and holds solid claims of reversing the form. While Tanjalla is interesting after finishing 2nd in a listed event last time out and now goes handicapping.
15.35 – Newmarket – Princess Of Wales’s Stakes (Group 2)
Its very hard to look past multiple G1 winner Adayar here, he is clear on ratings and was far from disgraced in the G1 Prince Of Wales at Royal Ascot last month and should have too much class for these. Israr looks the likeliest to chase home Adayar after finishing 2nd last time out in a listed contest behind a G2 winner. Though it would be unwise to totally dismiss Global Storm who has won a G2 over in Meydan.
