Premier League: Tuesday Preview

By Tom Kimsey

Brighton v Nottingham Forest

19:30 @ Amex Stadium

New manager Roberto De Zerbi will be hoping to land his first victory when bottom of the league Nottingham Forest at the Amex. One draw and two defeats has seen Brighton slip out of the top four since losing Graham Potter to Chelsea. A promising 3-3 draw away at Anfield shows that the ability is there within this Brighton squad, but will need to convert their chances if they are to take all 3 points from this game. 35 shots of which 11 have been on target in their last two games, highlights that Brighton are doing a lot of things right. But with all those chances equating to zero goals scored, the pressure will be starting to build around the Brighton forward line.

Nottingham Forest come into this game on the back of 6 losses and 1 defeat in their last 7 Premier League games. Nestled at the bottom of the league, Steve Cook admitted his side were 'nowhere near good enough with the ball' after losing 1-0 to Wolves. Stats across the board don't look all that good with 26% shooting accuracy; 58% tackle success; 2.30 goals conceded per match; and only 1 clean sheet this season, all emphasize the problem surrounding Forest.

With both teams out of form and out of luck, it's hard to predict which way this match will go, but based on the data in front of us...

My best bet for this game is:

- Brighton to have 7 or more shots on target (11/10)

Crystal Palace v Wolves

20:15 @ Selhurst Park

A lackluster Crystal Palace held Leicester to a 0-0 draw last time out, and will be looking for instant improvement as they host a Wolves side that struggled to beat bottom of the league Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Performances have not been the issue for Patrick Viera's side this season, however some unfortunate decisions and moments of switching off have seen them take less points than expected from their opening 9 fixtures.

Star man Zaha has 4 goals so far this season, and with an average of 2.75 shots per game, we can expect to see him heavily involved in the majority of Palace attacks. And with Palace beating Wolves on each of the last 3 occasions, I predict this will become 4 wins in a row come Tuesday night.

Mangerless Wolves can take some joy in picking up 3 points on Sunday, but with just the 4 goals scored all season they find themselves sat 1 point above the relegation zone. Injuries to Jimenez and Neto are major losses to this Wolves side that seemingly offer nothing in front of goal at the moment, which is why I can't see anything other than a Palace victory.

My best bets for this game are:

- Palace to win (23/20)

- Zaha to have 2 or more shots on target (7/5)

- Wolves to score under 0.5 goals (6/4)
