NFL 2024/25 Season Preview and Best Bets

NFL Season-Long Tips

September has rolled around which for many will signify the end of the summer season but for others, it marks the start of the best season - the NFL season.

  • 3 Points - San Francisco 49ers to win the Super Bowl (6/1)

  • 5 Points - San Francisco 49ers to make the Super Bowl (5/2)

  • 0.5 Points - 49ers to beat Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl (40/1 on Sky Bet)

  • 1.5 Points - Dolphins, Texans, Chiefs, 49ers & Falcons all to win their divisions - 20/1

Since the Chiefs made it two in a row back in February, we’ve had the draft, the pre-season and for many the fantasy football drafts, but it’s now time for the real thing. The NFL season.

For UK fans, the action gets underway in the early hours of Friday morning with a blockbuster game between the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs and one of their AFC challengers, the Baltimore Ravens.

A preview for that game will be on the way but for now, all eyes are on February 9th and who will lift Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans. The Chiefs will be going for a record third win in a row in the big one, but they’re not the fancy of this tipster.

Who will win Super Bowl 59?

Last year’s defeated 49ers are the fancy for the big one but they’ll have to buck a trend if they are to do so. No team has lost the Super Bowl and then gone on to make it the next year since 2019.

That was the last time the Patriots were NFL champions and lifted the Vince Lombardi trophy with Bill Belichick’s side recovering from their 2018 loss to the Eagles by winning the most boring Super Bowl in recent years, beating the Rams 13-3.

San Francisco are the tip to replicate that feat following their shocking overtime defeat in February and at 6/1, they look good value too. It might be a short price for some but considering the lack of competition in the NFC, it represents brilliant value, as does 5/2 for them to make the big game.

  • San Francisco 49ers to win the Super Bowl - 3 points at 6/1

  • San Francisco 49ers to make the Super Bowl - 5 points at 5/2

One of the biggest concerns about the 49ers going into the 2024 NFL campaign was how their receiving options would line up, particularly regarding the contract status of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Drafted in 2020, Aiyuk has recorded back-to-back 1,000+ yard seasons making 78 and 75 catches each season whilst hauling in a total of 15 touchdowns across the two years.

After holding out for a period, the 26-year-old has now signed a four-year deal worth $120 million meaning Brock Purdy will have a plethora of weapons to target in his third year.

With talents such as Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and CMC to go with Aiyuk, the 49ers offence can uphold their second-best ranked offence for yards per game (398.4) and third-best points per game (28.9).

What makes the 49ers such a strong selection is that their defence is their strong point, yet they still boast such impressive offensive stats. Whilst they’ve lost Arik Armstead, they’ve added Leonard Floyd and they could yet improve on their third-fewest points conceded (17.5) in the NFL in 2023.

Which NFL team will San Francisco beat in the Super Bowl?

The Chiefs are going for their third straight Super Bowl win but also their third straight Super Bowl appearance, however, their team has taken a setback going into 2024.

Star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has signed for the Tennessee Titans which will be a huge loss to their defence, whilst another under the radar departure is punter Tommy Townsend meaning they’ll be unable to flip territory as they have done so often in recent years.

Travis Kelce had his worst NFL season since 2015 last year, failing to make 1,000 yards and recording just five touchdowns. He’ll be 35 in October and could decline even further.

One team in the AFC who look in line to usurp the Chiefs are the Baltimore Ravens who have added Derrick Henry to their already incredible backfield. He’ll pair with dual-threat quarterback and reigning MVP Lamar Jackson to create a lethal offence.

In addition Zay Flowers heads into his second season and tight-end Mark Andrews is back healthy after an injury-hit 2023. The Ravens are nicely priced to make the Super Bowl but taking the 49ers to beat them in the big game at 40/1 looks like a fun season-long play.

20/1 NFL acca

Both the Chiefs and 49ers look certs to win their respective NFL divisions, the AFC and NFC West and they can form the start of a five-fold across the eight divisions.

Despite being touted to make the Super Bowl, the Ravens have been left out of this given the ease of schedule that Cincinnati Bengals have relative to the Ravens. A healthy Joe Burrow-led side could well sneak the AFC North, meaning they’ve been left out of this bet.

Instead, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons have joined the Chiefs and 49ers in a 20/1 accumulator to win their respective divisions..

The Dolphins are looking to end Buffalo’s new era of dominance in the AFC East and now looks to be the season they finally do it. The Bills have lost star wide receiver Stefon Diggs but their defence has been savaged with Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde and Tre White all leaving. Star linebacker Matt Milano also looks set to miss the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Miami look to have got even stronger and at 15/8 represent brilliant value to win the East for the first time since 2008. They had the same record as the Bills in 2023 (11-6) and can improve on that again this season with the eighth-easiest strength of schedule compared to Buffalo who rank 23rd.

Houston Texans seem an obvious pick to win the AFC South after cementing the division last season. CJ Stroud has now got Stefon Diggs as well whilst the backfield will be led by Joe Mixon who is an upgrade on Devin Singletary. Priced at 1/1, the Texans look very good value.

As do the Falcons at 10/11 to win a very poor NFC South. It was a division won with just a 9-8 record last year and the Falcons finished 7-10 thanks to a 1-4 end of the season. Three of those losses came in division but now with a new offensive coordinator and Kirk Cousins at quarterback, they look the best of a bad bunch in the division. Talents such as Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts could break out the Falcons are fancied to win the division for the first time since 2016.

1.5 Point Bet - Dolphins, Texans, Chiefs, 49ers & Falcons all to win their NFL divisions - 20/1
