14:15 - Laugh A Minute 5/1 1pt ew
LAUGH A MINUTE is a dangerously well handicapped horse running off a mark of 88, especially when you consider that Aido McGuinness has almost certainly had this race in mind over the winter period.
This horse blew some cobwebs away at Dundalk last month, in very similar fashion to last year, which he then used as a springboard to win this exact race. His overall record on his second start back after a break of at least 90 days for the yard is is 611, so he clearly improves a lot for a run and I believe he has a big chance of repeating last year’s dosage from a 7lb lower mark today, with ground conditions in his favour too.

George Boughey has made a real splash in the training ranks so far and he will be looking to start the season strong with a winner in the Irish Lincolnshire via TOTALLY CHARMING.
He proved to be a fairly reliable type last season since moving to Boughey, winning 4 out of his 8 starts. He really flashed on to the radar when winning a competitive handicap at Epsom when well fancied under William Buick, strong at the finish over 1m1f. He went on to run in the Hunt Cup and the Cambridgeshire so he has all the experience of the hustle and bustle of a big field handicap which should equip him well for today.
A career best was produced at the end of the season at Doncaster, when he really relished the heavy ground, cruising into contention before finishing very strongly compared to his toiling rivals. The handicapper gave him a 8lb rise for that, but that may not be enough to stop him as he looked like in soft ground he may be more than just handicapper; connections may think the same and I think he has all the tools to be involved at the finish today.
