Horse Racing: Saturday 11th February Tips

Newbury

14:25 - Does He Know 7/1 1pt ew

Although not a stellar renewal of the Denman Chase, it is certainly a competitive one, one in which I am happy to take a chance on a horse improving again to land the prize. Kim Bailey’s horse DOES HE KNOW is one I have always had a lot of time for, he is a very talented horse despite his quirks. Off the back of a productive novice chasing campaign, he made amends for an early fall at Carlisle by scoring at Cheltenham under a big weight, with the 2nd and 3rd going on to win at the course next time out. That was a good performance and I think if David Bass gets a good tune again today then he can put it up to his rivals, especially with question marks about the three in front of him in the market.

14:45 - Dublin Four 9/1 0.5pt ew

DUBLIN FOUR has shaped really well in a few of his last runs, notably when 2nd to an incredibly well handicapped Into Overdrive, and more recently when 3rd at Doncaster to Senior Citizen. Fergal O’Brien’s charge came from a long way back that day and did remarkably well to get as close as he did under the circumstances. If the race is run to suit today, which I think it will be with the guaranteed pace angles, then I expect he will be more than capable of getting involved at the business end of the race.

15:20 - Sayadam 3/1 1pt win

Kim Bailey’s horse has been ultra consistent since making his debut under rules, not finishing out of frame once and SAYADAM looks set to run another big race today. He was a beaten favourite last time out, but he made a bad mistake at the last when challenging and I think that cost him the race. Quicker ground shouldn’t prove any issue today and Kai Lenihan is on board to take a handy 7lbs off, this makes him effectively off a mark of 122 and I would be surprised if he is not good enough to win again from that mark.
