Super Sergio In Spain

The LIV tour heads to Spain this weekend with the big names attracting lots of interest. Brooks Koepka and Cam Smith rightly head the betting after their exploits so far this season, but at his ‘favourite’ course Sergio Garcia is our pick to come out on top.

Garcia has made 15 pro starts at Valderrama and has notched up 14 top-10 finishes in that time, including 3 wins and 3 2nds (one of which a playoff loss). It isn’t a long course, around a 7,000-yard par 71, so the big hitters from America may be less suited to it. At around 14/1 Garcia strikes us as representing excellent value.

Reavie To Reign In the Rocket

Chez Reavie was pretty faultless for the first 3 rounds at the Travellers last week before a poor last round of 71 put him out of contention, ending up 4 shots back in T4.

The field was much stronger in that event and with many of the big names staying at home, Reavie will fancy his chances of another run at a title. He’s currently 66/1 with Ladbrokes paying 10 places and that could represent excellent value about a man heading to Detroit in form.

--------

Rampant Rose

Justin Rose heads the betting at the Belfry for the British Masters and he’ll fancy his chances of a 2nd win in the tournament. The Englishman has already won on the PGA tour this season, and managed 5 top 10 finishes.

The field this weekend will be much weaker than what he has been dealing with in the States, and with The Pools boosting him to 3/1 To finish in the top 5, I'm making this my bet of the weekend!

Best Bets:

  • Justin Rose to finish in the Top 5 of the British Masters: 3/1 boost with The Pools

  • Sergio Garcia to win the LIV Golf invitational tour Valerrama: 15/1 on the Betfair Exchange

  • Chez Reavie e/w in the Rocket Mortgage Classis: 66/1 10 places with Ladbrokes
