Hallybhoy11: Tuesday Night Treble

By John Hall

Leicester v Newport

EFL Cup - King Power Stadium

Rewind a few weeks and Brendan Rodgers was favourite to be next manager sacked. Some very good results however has seen Leicester turns things around. They have won 3 of their last 4 games and kept cleans sheets in all 3 with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Man City sandwiched in between. They have scored 9 in their 7 home league games this season, an average of 1.2 per game. They did require penalties in the last round to get past Stockport but this is very much a different Leicester now and I can see Rodgers sending out most of his big guns to keep their momentum going.

Newport enjoyed 3-2 wins against both Luton and Portsmouth to reach this stage, but this should be a step too far a club who sit 18th in league 2 and have conceded 20 goals in 17 league games, an average of 1.1.

Leicester -1 (4/9)

Burnley v Crawley

EFL Cup - Turf Moor

Burnley have scored 37 goals in 20 league games this season, an average of 1.85 which is impressive and they sit top of the table. They do concede goals too however, 23 in total which is more than 1 per game on average. I can see Vincent Kompany fielding a strong team in hope of progressing to boost his managerial profile.

Crawley sit 19th in league 2 and have conceded 28 goals in 16 games, an average of 1.75 per game. In their last 13 matches in all competitions there has been over 2.5 goals on 11 occasions.

Burnley win & over 2.5 goals (8/11)

Sheff Utd v Rotherham

English Championship - Bramall Lane

Sheff Utd enjoyed a huge 5-2 victory on Saturday in front of the sky cameras and will be full of confidence as a result. They have the best goal difference in the league having scored 34 and conceded 18 in 19 games. They will be hopeful of securing their 4th win in a row and continue their push for promotion.

Rotherham have drawn 1 and lost 4 in their last 5 games. In their 9 away games this season they have conceded 13 times, an average of 1.4.

Sheff Utd to win & over 1.5 goals (4/6)

Treble pays 10/3
