Hallybhoy11: BTTS Saturday Bet

By John Hall

It’s become almost compulsory to do one of these every Saturday hasn’t it. Something very satisfying in ticking each team off as they get their required goal. It’s a bet that lasts the full 90mins, making the losses more painful, but the winners more glorious!

I've picked out four games and provided my reasoning why I fully expect both team to score.

Everton v Crystal Palace

15:00 Goodison Park

Only Nottingham Forrest have a worse home record than Everton and goals have been a problem in general with them scoring just 8, an average of 0.72 per game. After 3 defeats in a row, I am expecting a reaction especially with the return of Dominic Calvin Lewin. They concede on average 1 goal every game and last season this fixture finished 3-2.

Crystal Palace have scored 12 this season, an average of 1.2 per game and it’s a similar story for goals conceded with 13 in total averaging 1.3. Both teams have scored in 3 or their last 4 matches.

BTTS (5/6)

Score Prediction 1-1 (11/2)

Sheff Utd v Norwich

15:00 Bramall Lane

Both teams currently sit in the play off places fighting for promotion. Sheff Utd have scored 24 goals this season, an average of 1.6 per game and both teams have scored in 3 of their last 5 matches.

Norwich stats are similar scoring 21 times which is an average of 1.4 per game. In their last 4 matches both teams have found the net on 3 occasions.

BTTS (4/6)

Score Prediction 2-1 Sheff Utd (17/2)

Millwall v West Brom

15:00 The Den

Millwall have been involved in a game with both teams scoring on 4 of the last 6 occasions. They have netted 20 times this season, an average of 1.3 per game. They also concede goals, 18 in total which is an average of 1.2 per game.

Despite their poor start to season, West Brom average the most shots per game in the whole league, 6.1 in total and this suggests their luck is possibly due to change. Scoring 19 and conceding 20 in 15 games tells us we can expect goals.

BTTS (5/6)

Prediction 2-2 (14/1)

Burton v Cheltenham

15:00 Pirelli Stadium

Burton have conceded a huge 29 goals in 14 games. With numbers like that it’s difficult to see them keeping a clean sheet. They do score goals too, 16 in total which is average of 1.1 per game.

Cheltenham are quite leaky at the back too conceding 19 this season in the league. They are fairly low on goals scored with 12 in 13 games so not quite averaging 1 per game but they will be confident against Burtons back four.

BTTS (4/6)

Prediction 2-1 Burton (15/2)

Both Team To Score Total Odds (8.3/1)

  • Everton v Palace (5/6)

  • Sheffield United v Norwich (4/6)

  • Millwall v West Brom (5/6)

  • Burton v Cheltenham (4/6)
