Golf: Dubai Desert Classic

By LadyD

Rory McIlroy heads the betting for this years Dubai Desert Classic and rightly so looking at his record around the Majlis course.

Rory has a course record of -118 across his last 8 appearances there, averaging almost -15 per round. The last 3 years, the winning score has been -12, -17 and -9, so if Rory plays to his average he should go extremely close. He does know how to win here, he is a 2x winner and also boasts a 2nd on his resume, you’d certainly be a brave man or woman to take on the World number 1.

Outside of McIlroy, Richard Mansell could represent a bit of value at around 80/1 if you can find a bookmaker playing a few places. Mansell has finished under par in 8 of his last 10 events, which includes 3 top 10’s and an 11th. He’s yet to win on the DP world tour but has shown some very promising form and could outrun his odds here.

Bets:

McIlroy Outright - 3/1 (Boosted to 4/1 with BinkBet)

Mansell Each Way - 80/1
