Champions League games will dominate the minds of most football punters on Tuesday night but I think there’s value to be had on the domestic scene.
All games Tuesday 01/11/22 19.45PM
Barrow 10/11
Chesterfield 1/2
Woking 4/5
Alfreton Town Draw no Bet 7/10
Brackley Town 13/20
Barrow to beat Colchester
5th placed Barrow host bottom of the table Colchester and I think they’re brilliant value at 10/11. Barrow had been on a little wobble but back to back wins at home have set them straight and I expect them to make it three in a row. They’ve picked up 18 points from 24 at home winning 6/8 only losing to top of the table Leyton Orient and big spenders Mansfield. In contrast Colchester have the worst away record in the football league with only 1 point across 7 games. They’ll also be hindered by the 6 hour 338 mile trip and I just can’t see them going north to get a result. Barrow Win @10/11
Chesterfield to beat Gateshead
3rd placed Chesterfield have clear promotion ambitions whereas Gateshead are fighting to stay in the division sitting 22nd having failed to win in their last 6 league games. Similar to Barrow, Chesterfield went on a poor run of form with a 3 game losing streak but they snapped that with 2 wins and a draw in their last 3. Both of these wins came against top half teams (Boreham Wood 6th & Bromley 8th) so I expect them to handle Gateshead easily enough. The North East side concede almost 2 a game away from home whilst Chesterfield have scored just over 2 a game at home and I’m expecting more of the same. Chesterfield Win @1/2
Woking to beat Yeovil
This is another matchup between a promotion aspiring side and division dwindlers. Woking sit firmly in the playoffs in 5th place and host 21st placed Yeovil who are the division's lowest scorers with only 13 goals across 16 games. In their last three games they’ve only managed to find the net once losing 2-0 in both goalless games. Meanwhile Woking have scored 7 in their last 3 and find the net over 2 times a game when playing at home which if they replicate they’ll almost certainly win given Yeovil’s goal shy nature. Woking Win @4/5
Alfreton Draw no Bet VS Boston United
The only away side selected in this acca and for caution I’ve taken them on a draw no bet basis. The trend of this acca continues with Alfreton high flying in 5th taking on 21st placed Boston. A win would see Alfreton jump into 3rd place and their recent form suggests they will. Back to back wins including victory over 6th placed Scarborough 2-0 have seen them pick up 10 of their last 15 available points. Even more impressive is their away record which aside from a loss to league leaders Kings Lynn is incredibly solid and ranks 2nd best in the division. Boston also have an abysmal home record picking up only 4 points in 7 whilst conceding a huge 18 goals- over 2.5 a game. They’re also coming off a 4 game losing streak and it’s not one that I see ending, but on the off chance it does I think it’ll only be a draw hence the draw no bet tip. Alfreton Draw no Bet @7/10
Brackley Town to beat Peterborough Sports
2nd place Brackley have the chance to go top of the table with Kings Lynn not playing and their form implies they’ll do that. 3 wins in a row including 2 at home have put them in a strong position and this is built on having one of the best defences in the league conceding only 13 across their 15 games including 7 clean sheets. If it wasn’t for their poor start (lost 3 of their first 4) they’d be clear at the top of the table and I don’t think they get the credit they deserve. Visiting side Peterborough haven’t won in 3 matches with their last win coming against bottom of the table side Telford. Their away form is shocking and ranks 21st in the table with 4 points from 6 conceding 2 a game and I think this is another case of a playoff contending team on form facing a bottom half opponent without a win in a while. Brackley Win 13/20
The acca pays at almost 13.5/1 and if Alfreton draw and their leg is voided we still get a price of 15/2 or 7.5/1. We also get the benefit of the free bet bonus if the acca lands which is a brilliant perk of using QuinnBet.
For those who prefer shorter odds bets I think placing Brackley and Chesterfield with National League leaders Wrexham (not dropped a point at home scoring 34 in 8) to beat Maidenhead is a nice treble at just over 2/1. They unfortunately are too short to qualify for QuinnBet’s acca bonus hence I haven’t placed them in our 5 fold.
