Darts: Grand Prix Day 5 Tips

By Zach Garrard

With a stellar quarter final line up inbound for Leicester on Friday night we look at our best bets for the evening.

Less than 20 hours since his opponent missed 4 match darts in a hotly contested match Nathan Aspinall takes on outsider Martin Lukeman who looks for his 3rd ever win on TV. Aspinall averaging 81 against Smith and a slight improvement to 85 during his comeback win against Noppert hitting 5 180’s.

Aspinall boasting a healthy 42% check out percentage will need to be there again to get past a tricky customer in Lukeman who was 46.4% on finishing doubles against Ross Smith.

With Aspinalls superior 0.26 180’s per leg to Lukeman’s 0.2% I think the smart play is with Skybet on Aspinall to win the match, score over 3.5 180’s and checkout over 97.5.

Aspinall seemingly wanting to take every game deep should give him chances on both the 180’s and checkout which he completed in his last game against Noppert.

Final bet of the evening is including the pre tournament 6/1 favourite and current world number 1 Gerwyn Price against surprise quarter finalist Madars Razma.

With Razma consistently aiming for the 19’s and Price’s superior 180 per leg at 0.28 whereas Razma at a small 0.14 and Price’s ability to hit a high checkout shown by his 100+ checkouts in both games so far this tournament I believe the match treble at 11/8 via Labrokes is good value in a match Price should dominate.

Price averaging 107 in the last 11 legs in the previous games shows the gears in which he possesses in games.

The Welshman is a level above Razma in all the key stats this season and not only should he win comfortably, I'd expect him to hit most 180s and achieve the highest checkout.

BEST BETS

Aspinall to win, score over 3.5 180’s and checkout over 97.5 (2/1)

Gerywn Price Match Treble – (11/8)
