Chelsea v Man City: Preview + Haaland Boost

By Laurence Heffernan

Both teams come into this fixture looking to bounce back after disappointingly dropping points against relegation candidates. The poor results on the weekend mean this is Chelsea’s lowest league position after 16 matches since 2015/16. Whilst Guardiola’s men are seeing their chances of retaining their title slip away, as Arsenal move 7 points clear. Liverpool in the 18/19 season are the only team to fail to win the premier league after being 7 points clear at the start of a new year.

Despite falling behind Arsenal, City’s season so far is looking much brighter than Chelsea. The gulf in teams is most evident in the volume of goals scored by each team, with Haaland alone scoring more than the entire Chelsea team. 21 compared to 20!

Chelsea will also be missing both first choice full backs and Kante from the heart of their midfield. With the ageing Azpilicueta and the inexperienced Zakaria likely to be in the team. I expect City’s attackers to have too much and Chelsea to pick up some cards, to add to the 32 they’ve already received this season.

Chelsea -0.5 on the card handicap is 1.77 on Bink bet.

I will be backing both of these bets as a double and have secured 3.2 on BinkBet, meaning £10 will return £32.

City also boast the best away defensive record in the league, conceding just 6 goals on their travels this season. This linked with Chelsea's stuttering attack is why I’m also backing Manchester City to win and Chelsea not to score at 2.68 on BinkBet.

Best Bets:

BOOST:

Haaland to score first: Was 3.10 now 5.00 (Located under the 'Premier League Special Bets' tab)
